Who are we?

Adarsh Jan Seva Mandal is a non-profit grassroots social services organisation based out of Mumbai. Since our inception in 1977, we have consistently strived to empower the needy in India.

Our Story

One day, Mr. Haridwar Singh visited a municipal school to meet a teacher colleague, where he observed a teacher reprimanding and physically disciplining a student for prolonged absenteeism. Upon gentle persuasion, the child disclosed that financial constraints prevented the purchase of a school uniform, which had caused the absences. Deeply affected by this encounter, Mr. Singh resolved to ensure that no underprivileged student would be denied education due to monetary challenges, such as the cost of uniforms, books, and other essentials. Consequently, he collaborated with like-minded individuals, including the late Mr. Indradeo Singh (a Presidential Award recipient), Yadunath Rai, and others, to establish Adarsh Jan Seva Mandal. The organization was officially registered under the Societies Registration Act on August 10, 1977.

What We Do?

Child Education Resources

Many Indian students drop-out of school because of lack of money. We fund their education and help them restart their academic journey. We provide school uniforms, bags and books to these students every year in the month of June. In addition, we also offer monetary assistance to the kids who excel academically.

Food Donation Drive

We organise food donation drives at various places like old age homes, orphanages and hospitals. The aim is to help families struggling with food scarcity by providing nutritious food in adequate quantities preventing spoilage.

Felicitate Social Workers

We felicitate social workers who have selflessly worked hard for the betterment of the society. We support and encourage such social workers who help set an example for future generations.

Environment

We undertake tree plantation programs and also carry out cleanliness drives in different parts of the city. We also organise programs to enlighten the people about their responsibility towards the environment.
